A. Bruce Larson, admitted to bar, 1977. Education: Idaho
State University (B.B.A., Business, 1973); University of Idaho (J.D., 1977).
Member: Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, Idaho State Bar.
Practice Areas of Emphasis: Real Estate, Local Land Use, Litigation, Criminal Law, Family Law, Estate Planning. Bruce has significant experience in general litigation. He brings to the firm expertise in the areas of real estate, criminal law, business and agricultural law. Bruce represents companies and individuals in complex cases involving construction and real estate, criminal charges or allegations, and cases of divorce that are complicated by substantial agricultural and business interests. His extensive appellate experience includes two cases that established limits of zoning ordinances as they apply to pre-existing use of real property, i.e. “grandfather rights,” and the protection of contract sellers from claims made by the buyers’ assignors. Bruce is a life-long resident of Idaho. His practice of law began with the firm of Transtrum, Budge & Larson, in Soda Springs, Idaho. When the firm’s senior partner became a District Judge, Bruce continued as a sole practitioner. The merger in 1998 of Bruce’s Soda Springs practice with the firm that is now Meyers, Thomsen & Larson expanded the legal depth of the entire firm and provided for greater networking capabilities. Well respected by his peers, Bruce is a member of the Idaho Supreme Court Child Support Guidelines Committee. He has also served as an active attorney for the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program. Bruce’s professional as well as “life” experience
outside the practice of law is valuable to his career as an attorney.
For example, Bruce served for several years as general counsel
to Security State Bank, in Soda Springs. He is currently the
President and a major shareholder of Caribou Land Title, Inc.,
Soda Springs, a title insurance agency underwritten by a major
national title insurance company. |
